Hello everyone,

I have a Yamaha DJX II which has broken MIDI, and what I am trying to do is find out if there is a way to get the Voices / Keyboard sounds in another fashion, so I can use them in StudioOne. Does anyone know if these Samples were incorporated into later models of Yamaha Keyboards, or if the Soundbank is available for purchase or whatever, somewhere ?

As far as I know, Yamaha doesn't sell soundbanks of their keyboards' internal voices.

I think that at one point they did sell a soft synth version of their XG voices, and if you can find that then it may be able to help you with some of the voices on your DJX-II.

But most of Yamaha's keyboards also have "panel voices" which aren't part of the XG soundset, and it appears that the DJX-II includes many such voices. The XG soft synth won't have those voices.

Well that sucks, I was trying to avoid paying to get the Keyboard fixed.

Well, I don't know if you have the knowledge and skills and tools to try repairing it yourself-- or have a friend who does-- but you might want to download the service manual:

https://elektrotanya.com/showresult?what=DJX-II&kategoria=&kat2=all

Most Yamaha keyboards include a test mode-- described in their service manuals-- that you might want to run to see if it tells you anything useful.
