Ax Synth Connectivity Issue

So i've been trying to connect my Keytar Ax Synth to my laptop and i have the software installed in my laptop which was given in the CD.. I've tried connecting through MIDI and USB but it always gives the same message "Unable to read/write data"..
Please help.. :/
