This is a very weird case of broken keys.
I have just recently spray painted the lower octave of my keyboard green, and all seemed to work fine
i played The Entertainer fully and there were no problems, and then when i restarted my midi software, which is FL studio 12, every key was transpoesd to a wholetone scale and F#4, G4, G#4, A4, A#4 and B4 all press 12 keys at the same time
I have no idea what the problem is
i reseted the keyboard by holding + and - and turning on, but it didnt do anything\
please help

Well obviously the spray paint gummed up the works. o_O

At this point you may as well scrap it.

It would cost more to fix than it's worth.

Internally these keyboards all use silicone rubber contact strips to enable the keys.

The paint must have crept into the contacts and destroyed these strips.

It's a writeoff unless you can find a parts junker on Ebay to replace those strips and possibly the circuit boards they make contact with.

I seriously doubt that M-Audio stocks any parts for it.

Offhand I'd say you've just learned a hard lesson about spraying solvent based solutions into a keyboard.

BTW, the next time you feel like spray painting your keyboard green, take it apart FIRST.

OK, in that case, the problem was in the disassembly and reassembly.

Did you keep track of which way the connectors were supposed to be oriented?

Did you pry up the contact strips?

Are you sure you didn't forget to plug any connectors back in?

Usually it's a good idea to take pictures or videos while you disassemble to see how to put everything back together again.

At this point I'd suggest googling for a service manual to see how it's supposed to fit.

Other than that just look for disconnections and wires that aren't twisting the way they were before. If you're lucky the connectors are polarized but that's not usually the case.

Also look for misaligned ribbon connectors. Sometimes it's possible to skew the connectors over by a single pin when reseating them

Keep your fingers crossed and play it for an hour or so to make sure the problem doesn't come back. Also throw a few reboots in there just to make sure.

DON'T TOUCH THE CONTACT STRIPS!!!

They are a bitch to reinstall properly.

If you want a sure fire fix, remove and replace (CAREFULLY) each plug in connector and clean the contacts with electronics contact cleaner spray. Deoxit makes a good one.

It also helps sometimes just to plug and unplug the connectors since most are a self wiping design. The contact cleaner is extra insurance.

DO NOT MESS WITH THE CONTACT STRIPS. THEY ARE NOT THE PROBLEM.

Friend, the axion contact rubbers, are they the same ones used by the keys studio, keystation and sono controller?

I can only guess, but chances are they have changed designs over the years with each generation.

If you search for parts a few good places to google are Syntaur, Full Compass and Instrumental Parts.

They stock new and used parts pulled from dead boards.

Sometimes if you can't find a replacement part you can restore the contacts with a kit you can buy on Ebay.
