OK so I'm bored and trying to avoid practicing my set so I'm learning some music theory on keyboard. Today's activity is blues scales, which I play all the time on guitar. But I see things differently on keyboard. From this URL http://www.musiclearningworkshop.com/scale-formulas.html I learn this description of blues scales:
Blues Scale:
Mathematically the Blues scale is produced with 6 notes using the following formula. Using the 1, b3, 4, b5, 5 b7
1 - m3 - 4 - d5 - 5 - m7 - 8
S- m3 - W - H - H - m3 - W
C - Eb - F - Gb - G - Bb - C
So I'm playing Cm, Fm and Gm chords with the left hand and that blues scale with my right hand. Sounds so different from guitar.
