I have the Yamaha 3 pedal unit on the keyboard. I'm learning a song that uses the sustain pedal through the entire 268 measure song. So after a while practicing, the pedal started sticking. Had to shut off the unit and restart, and it would work. But now it sticks immediately on first use.

I suspect it is a hardware issue. I'lll call Yamaha support tomorrow. I thought in the meantime I'd check here.

Anyone have this happen and clear it up?

BTW...I d id try a reset on boot. Didn't help.

Pedals can act up. My Yamaha PSR-EW425 & my church's Korg Nautilus AT 88 are fairly new as are their respective sustain pedals, so I can't speak from personal experience. 😐

My thought is to see what Yamaha says.

Yeah. This one isn't old.

I did hook up the small aux pedal and it works fine. But with all the presses it needed to be taped to the floor.

If an auxilliary pedal works fine then it is not a keyboard hardware issue, it is a pedal hardware issue. Take it apart, there is a metal piece inside the pedal that causes the contact and the related sustain. That metal piece may have bent over time and never disconnects causing infinite sustain.

I agree it is not the keyboard.

Interesting info on the metal piece. I'll take a look at that.

I will say that the pedal has had little use, until working with this song.

Thanks for the input.
