DGX 670 ... YES, you can record a midi to a wav file...

The manual is a bit confusing regarding the need to just convert a midi to a wav file. In searchs I did I found more saying it couldn't be done, as opposed to methods documented.

See Recording your performance on page 75 of the owners manual. It speaks of "recording your performance", and of voice with that etc. But I took that too literally, ie. leaving me thinking you need to "play it into the wav file", so to speak.

So, I just did it, like this:

  • Select the song you want to record, just like you would if you were going to play it
  • Select USB Audio (upper right top button)
  • Press either 1 or 2 under the red recording indicator

  • Press Play (button 3) on the USB audio player
  • Press Play under Song, as if you were just going to play it on the piano
At this point it will start playing, while the USB Audio Player is recording.
