Hi everyone I am new to the site and I am from the deep south, US Alabama! Roll Tide! I have just bought a new Korg Pa600 arranger. I was looking between the Yamaha S770 and the Korg Pa600. To me the Pa600 had some better sounds but what really sold me was the video tutorials on setting up the board and the ease of using the screen.

My question I have, does anyone have a certain set of styles they use to play Gospel music. Also, does anyone on the forum play Gospel/Spiritual music with their board.

Thanks,

Allen Savage

Hi Allen,

First off welcome to the board.

Secondly I don't play gospel, though I do enjoy how those beats and riffs sometimes find their way into the blues and jazz.

However, if you're looking for fresh styles to download you might want to try this link.

Looking forward to hearing some of your stuff if you're so inclined as to post any tunes.

Gary ;)

PS. I think there are a few other worship players here on the forums.

Thanks for the reply. I will hopefully be posting some stuff to the board. There is not a lot out there concerning information on the Korg Pa600 boards. I looked hard at the PSR-S770, there is a lot of stuff on YouTube concerning tutorials on playing songs, but almost nothing as to how to set the board for the songs. I have a Yamaha E433 and have played it very little because I do not know how to set the board to play. When I say set the board I mean the intro, ending and styles etc.

The main reason I bought the Pa600 was because of the videos explaining how to set the board and the ease of using the faceplate. It does have some better sounds than the Yamaha PSR S770 to me. SO if all goes well I would like to post some stuff for the Korg Pa600 as to setting the board and plating songs.

The main goal I have is to be able to go to the retirement homes and play for the people there. Around here they do not have much they can do and have very few visitors. I hope to have some Christmas music ready by the end of the year and go play a mini concert for them. That is another reason that I bit the bullet and got the Pa600 because of the ability to have a band play behind you.

Thanks again and I look forward to making new friends here on the forum.

Hej Allan,

a guy in another forum said:

If you're looking for that authentic "Black Gospel" sound, there are a few of those on the PA600 (which I think are also on the 800).

If you're wanting to play standard hymns in a more orchestral setting, check out "Soft 8 Ballad", "Love Movie", and "Love Ballad".

Then for the even wider range of Christian music, such as current worship songs and contemporary Christian music, these styles are adaptable: "Serenade", "Unplugged Ballad 2", "Slow Mood", "Groove Ballad", "Slow Beat", "8 Beat Analog", "Take Beat", and "Pop Ballad".
