Hello there!

I just obtained a beautiful keyboard, but it has a pretty serious issue. It powers on, but there is no sound, not from the keys, the metronome or the included songs. The internal amplifier works as I can plug a guitar into the INPUT jack on the back and the guitar comes out great. The output and headphone jacks produce no sound either. All of the buttons are responsive, e.g. lights go on when a different voice is selected.

Does anyone have any ideas where the culprit might be? Thanks.

I found the manual online, but there's no mention of a factory reset. Any idea if there is one and how to do it?

It's gotta be called "initalize" or "reset" or something similar.

Look harder.

I took a quick glance at the manual.

It's a really old piece of gear.

It may be that the battery backup for the memory has failed.

Call or email Roland and they should be able to steer you in the right direction.

I found a master list online of roland factory resets and my model isn't listed.

Opened up the unit completly and there's no battery backup. I expected to find a button cell on the mainboard, but no such luck
