Hi! Brand new here. My name is Nate. I currently live in Mobridge, SD USA with my brother. I am pursuing buying my first synthesizer and found the Roland Fantom 06 to be my best choice. I’m very impressed with this system’s capabilities and simple workflow. I am really impressed with how many sounds and drum kits it comes with. I look forward to hopefully buying a lifetime license for the extensions it currently supports. Does it integrate well with Bitwig?

A couple of caveats here.

#1). Do you have any sort of keyboard. training or experience whatsoever?

#2). Have you done any homework regarding MIDI codes and networking?

#3). (Personal I know but how old are you and how comfortable are you with today's technology?)

My first word of advice, is, for a total neophyte, what kind of jimson weed have you been. smoking?

The learning curve on a workstation of that calibre is upward of years before you truly master all the features and benefits of the platform by which time you'll be ready to trade it in on a newer, later and greater model.

Personally I love Roland and their synths are outstanding for features and networking abilities but the top of the line flagship purchased by a total beginner simply boggles the mind.:rolleyes::eek:

I’m used to a lot of technology. Frankly I’ve learned a lot about music creation and I’ve watched videos from Roland on YouTube recently. I’m not a mamby pamby who knows nothing about synthesizers like the Fantom. I’ve taken piano

I’m not a mamby pamby who knows nothing about synthesizers like the Fantom. I’ve taken piano lessons as well. Nothing professional, but I know the basics. A lot of hands on learning wouldn’t hurt. That’s for sure.

Good luck but I still think if production is your end goal the Fantom is overkill. The 06 won't have weighted hammer action either.

I think you could meet your needs just as well with a lesser synth, perhaps in the used market.

You're the guy with the money tree. Choosing how to spend it is your business but I believe you're biting off more than you can chew.
