Mainly a flute player but the lure of the keyboard and its possibilities would make the Argonauts think the Singing Sirens were "boring".
I met Moog in an elevator and helped him carry his contraptions to his car in the early years..... music in Manhattan..... then a walk over to Steinway :D

Casio WK-1200 does not switch tones. The keypad takes the entry and it is displayed on the screen..... but tone is always stuck at 017/percussive organ.

I'll open it and vac/blow out the dust.
Any thoughts on the cause of the problem?
I read schematics etc.

Thanks

Offhand, the first thing that comes to mind is a stuck or disconnected controller.

Take a look around inside for anything that looks corroded or disconnected.

Also remove and reseat all the ribbon cables with a squirt of contact cleaner just in case it is oxidation on a connector pin.

That's all I can give you for now without any photos or further notes on what's been done so far.

Gary ;)

BTW, I started out with a flute myself 40 years ago. :)

Thanks
We got the WK when I bought an accordion to study how they work and reedplates etc for design of a melodica that is serviceable, like a flute, and has great tone and feel.

I have never opened it but I will check the insides ASAP.

I started flute in '76 after fifteen on tenor sax.
I'll switch this to Casio.
