I was online a few months ago and ran across a unit that was perfect! It was about $400-$500.00, it had a nice size hard drive and held all of your VST/VSTI sounds in it so you didn't need a laptop to carry around... you just set the unit on/near your keyboard and select the VSTs as you need them. Great product! I of course told myself "that's cool, I'll get that later on" and now I can't find it. I have come across the Receptor 2+, (video below)... but it's $1700.00!

Is anyone here familiar with these type units and what's available out there? Thanks!

Receptor - you can set it up before hand and use it without a monitor. The V-machine was the only monitor free competitor (AFAIK) - and it was a much lower spec.

Muse announced a new product called the Musebox ages ago. I've still to see one for sale here in the UK.
