John Mayall RIP

Aged 90 Blues legend John Mayall has passed away.

He and his Bluesbreakers inspired and nurtured many world class artists and his influence in the world of music has been colossal, Eric Clapton, Peter Green, John McVie, Mick Taylor being amongst the Bluesbreakers.

We last saw him in concert a few years ago where he played keyboard with Buddy Whittington playing lead guitar, awesome does not do justice to what we heard that night.

I was lucky enough to meet him that night and to thank him.

Sad, but hardly unexpected nowadays.

Most of our childhood idols are in their 80's or pushing 90's nowadays.

Let's face it. We're likely to join them ourselves in the next decade or two.

And then we'll have the most colossal jam session the universe has ever seen
