Below is a link to pianist Paul Lee's video tutorial of the ES920 Virtual Technician. Quite an in depth discussion and demonstration. A pianist's dream come true. (Same applies to other keyboards with this feature.) Save all your settings as a default when the keyboard is powered up.
For this feature alone I would steer a new student to a digital piano, not to mention the perfect tempered scale that never goes out of tune. Get a new student accustomed right off the bat about how a piano should sound sound: string resonance, decay, soft pedal and sustain pedal response/depth, lid positioning, pitch/tuning, sympathetic overtones and the beauty of this phenomenon and, how the keys should feel under your fingers. All of this can be custom tweaked for the individual player or student.
