Keyboard doesnt register letters?

i use a laptop, dont think the model matters too much but its a Asus Republic of Gamers laptop.While im playing games, and typing. the keyboard would randomly stop working and it wont type out letters. Space still works, numbers work. but the thing is it cant be the game because its happened on multiple games. Any ideas?
