Keyboard set for Split...when I record, the left hand/bass does not record...

Subject pretty much tells it. I set a Bass for the bass instrument, and an electronic piano for the treble side. When I record a song, it does not record the bass at all.

I am certain I have recorded with split before, as I did an attempt at a 'teaching video' for beginners which I recorded on video,

At any rate, anyone have any ideas?

Yes. Recording on track 1.

I think you may have to hold the Rec then press Track 1 and Track 2 so that both are illuminated.

That is correct. I am doing that. But, to be sure the problem is understood: i set up a split keyboard, then when I play to record to track 2 by holding track 2 button down then press Record, it records only the right hand, not the split/left hand.

i guess I'll have to give Yamaha support a try.
