I bought a used Kurzweil PC3 LE7 for $460. It sounds great and has a lot of features.
I need some help with splits.
I am trying to figure out how to:
  • Split the keyboard into two haves,
  • Set the left side to French horn, and raise it up two octaves
  • Set the right side to strings, and lower it down one octave
  • The transpose the whole keyboard down one step
  • And, save it so I can recall at gig time.
Can someone give me a procedure that I may replicate?

Thank you!

Hi there

I have a PC 361, so I believe that it is the same story.

You go in SETUP mode, start with a NEW SETUP

You need to set Zoen 1 and Zone, in the Zone 1 French Horn, in Zone 2 , strings.

The trick is to to set Low Key - High Key, for instance for the Zone 1 Low Key any, Hi key B3 and for Zone 2 Low key C4, High key - the highest possible.

This way you're kind of setting a SPLIT point.

I know it's a little complicated, but that's the price to play those beautiful sounds. You can check this video

Thanks a bunch Mayo Vox - My keyboard players uses a cheap Yamaha PSR-500 arranger keyboard from the 80's and it is a piece of cake to do. BUT, it sounds like junk. I will try this.

Thank you,
P
