Hi,
Newb.

Is it possible to plug in headphones and listen without the external speakers playing (other than to turn off the speakers, of course)?

No. However connecting to a small mixer will do the trick. This mixer allows controlling both the headphone volume as well as the output of the main sound going to the external speaker. Look for a used one. I got mine for $28.

Hi DD,
Thanks for that. I finally figured that there was no separation between the headphones and the stereo outs so I hooked up a couple of switchable power strips which achieves the same thing but I think your idea is better with less wear and tear on the equipment.

Nothing sounds only like something I lising like hru hru hru piano Sound I cannot listen for I plugged in Hedphonones and withe left and right Amplifier still same problem Just a hum
