Leave a synth on or turned off

If I know I'm going to be playing it again in a few hours, is it better to leave the synth on, or turn it off? How many hours is it OK to leave it on?

I turn mine off most of the time, but if I'm going to use it in less than an hour or two, I don't turn them off.

I turn my studio on when I'm starting my day and leave it running all day long in anticipation of inspiration jumping out of the weeds. Summertime I leave it running. with AC going. These things tend to be pretty efficient with power and don't generate too much heat.

The surge in the circuits when they get re-energized constitutes wear. After that heat is the enemy. Leaving stuff on and cool for the day works for me.
