I'm sure this is dumb question, are piano or keyboard lessons the same thing?

Similar but not exactly. A piano teacher will insist that you practice on weighted keys. Then again a lot of keyboard and piano teachers teach both.

The XW has something closer to organ style keys.

Also, A piano teacher would focus on your postures,hand positions and other dynamic aspects as well, a keyboard teacher on the other hand, would aquaint you with 'music' only

P.S. not all teachers are same, and not every student is good!
