Greetings all,

I play guitar in a classic rock cover band. A number of songs we would like to play have keys in them but we have no keyboard player. Fortunately, I have some 15 years of piano lessons I could probably dust off enough to do the job. Just need a keyboard...

I am looking for suggestions for something that I could get rolling with. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. i am sure that I will have many more questions to go along with this so I ask if you can please be patient with me.

I dunno. The Casio XW-P1 sells around $500 and it's a very versatile machine.

Or if yer budget is a bit richer and you want realistic sounding samples I'm partial to the Kurzweil PC3LE series. The 5 Octave version starts around $900 street.

If you need a full 88 keys and weighted hammer action PC3LE8 has it for around $2000.

Lots of pros use kurzweils. They're built like tanks with a minimum of plastic. Depends on how much your machine is gonna get kicked around.
