Mach 5 startup fails .
All lights go on and stay lit.
No buttons function and no keys sound.
I am a musician, not an electrician.
Anybody know a fix?
Thanks

MARK 5 OVERVIEW

Troubleshooting

How can I restore my Mark 5 to its factory defaults? (hard reset)

Question:
How can I restore my unit to its factory defaults?
Answer:
There are two methods:

Method 1:

  1. Turn the unit on
  2. Hold the MIDI button and strike the top note on the keyboard (C8) at the same time.
The unit is now reset.
If the unit won’t come up and permit method 1…

Method 2:

  1. Turn the unit off
  2. Hold down the TRANSPOSE, MIDI, and DEMO buttons
  3. Turn unit on
  4. Wait 5 seconds then release all buttons
  5. Press and release the CHORUS / ECHO / SYMPHONIC button
  6. Let the tests run for 5 minutes
  7. Turn the unit off
The MARK 5 is now reset.

I had a similar problem with a different keyboard. It turned out to be a small voltage regulator that had failed and only cost $5 from Mouser electronics. However, I was able to troubleshoot and replace it myself but if you're not confident in trying that, you might want to see if any friends can help. Google to see if you can find a free copy of the Service Manual.
