Mainstage and psr s-770

Hi,
I've just dl'ed MainStage and have been mucking around with it tonight.
I want to assign the buttons and knobs on the keyboard but for some reason it's being very selective in which buttons I can assign to. I click assign in MainStage and turn any knob on the keyboard but it's not being recognised. Same with most of the buttons.

I also have a FC7 pedal which it's failing to recognise. Normal sustain pedal is fine.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Are you following the instructions as written in the manual?

IE
Getting started > Assignments and Mapping > Learn a controller assignment.

Look in the S770 manual for details of setting up the footswitch, there will be somewhere in the menu system that you have to turn on the action you want.

Yes, I've done what it says but only some of the buttons are recognised in Mainstage.
The foot switch works through the keyboard but not connecting with Mainstage.

Update on the pedal - it seems it Mainstage doesn't like anything coming out of Foot Pedal 2 plug on the keyboard. So it doesn't seem to be an issue with the pedal itself.
