Firstly hello everyone...:D

I just purchased a new WK-500.

1) I want to know whether it is possible to get a sustain effect without a sustain pedal..
2) Also, It says it has a General Midi-1 support...does that mean that i can use it a midi controller for VSTi plugins..?

thanks and regards,
Ajinkya.

hey Ajinkya,

1) it is not possible to get the exact same sustain effect without the pedal but what you can try is turning the resonance up.

2) yes you can run midi to your computer and run VSTi plugins from there!

have fun!

It's not resonance that needs turning up, that will change the sound totaly. It's the "release" that needs to be turned up :)

That way the notes will "hold" longer but it will sound muddy while switching chords since usualy then we stop holding the sustain pedal down.

Sustain pedals are cheap so just get one - plus you'll learn the techique correct. not to mention it's very usefull
