Forgive me I am new to this forum, so I hope this is posted in the correct thread! Can I save my MFD to a USB and if so, what capacity would I need? Thanks
Yamaha Music Finder Databases were introduced mainly with the Tyros models, and you can use all those files from T1 thru T2/3/4 and T5.
Together they form a great Database of popular numbers.
They are widely available for free download
Simply save them onto a suitable USB. Anything from a 16 gb up will be perfectly adequate.
Many newer keyboards will convert . mfd files to be used on more up to date keyboards, like the PSR SX700 and the PSR SX900 and Genos models.
Lucky man.
The Tyros 4 was, in many people's opinion the best Tyros.
You should be able to access all .mfd files from all the Tyros models simply by inserting your USB stick that contains them into your keyboard, and searching for them in the menu.
Enjoy
If you need the mfd files let me know. I have them for all Tyros models.
We are talking at cross purposes here, Keith - my fault. Over and above the registrations I have saved, my Music Finder has none of the original default panel settings. It is completely full of my own creations, many hours' work as you can imagine. It is these I would like to download, if possible, onto a USB and keep in case of a major hiccup and I lose all my personal data - 660 records at last count. Thanks.
No probs...
I know Yamaha Tyros Manual covers this. I don't have mine any more, as I sold it on, but Yamaha recommend backing up your T4 onto a USB stick on a regular basis. You can get the manual online, and I seem to recall it's somewhere around P30'ish... I used to keep a further backup on my pc too.
Yep, I have to do the same on my Korg Pa5x. Regular backups are an essential.
Hope that helps.
Keith
