I play a Roland FP-7 on stage. Great sounds, but obviously, too heavy with the amp/speakers built in. Here is what I need...any recommendations?
88 keys
Can split the keys anywhere, and can octave shift the splits up or down
Can layer sounds
At least 64 patch storage locations (a patch would be a ombination of sounds, transposer setting, splits, pedal functions, effects settings, etc....each patch corresponds to everything I need for a particular song)
A PC-based editor/librarian that can store and edit all of the patch settings, allowing me to easily reorder them to or respond to my set list).
An iPad version of the editor would be good too.
Ideally, a song or sample trigger capability - similar to Roland's "Audio Key" function
Patches can be recalled via MIDI program change commands
Thoughts? Should I be thinking about a MIDI controller and tone modules, samplers instead? The FP-7 comes close, except that there is no editor/librarian for it, and that is killing me.
Thanks!
