Hello,

I'm an artist who used to be a musician (got my bachelors/masters in music comp) and am going to be doing some composing again. Trumpet is my instrument but I'd like a keyboard around for pecking things out, trying things, etc. I may end up hooking it up to a Mac for notation (e.g. Finale/Sibelius). I might someday wish to hook it up via MIDI for other applications as well (e.g. Max/MSP).

I'm not a pianist so it doesn't need to be fully weighted or anything. If anything, I'd prefer it to be easy to play/press. Mostly I'd like a quality piano sound, maybe a few others (electric, harpsichord, etc.). Features I know I want:

built-in speakers
MIDI in/out (maybe prefer this via USB as it seems easier)
headphone out (for both phones and output to external speakers/amp)
relatively lightweight

I'm open on budget, but would love to do this under $350 (including a standing up stand, AC adapter). I was looking at Casio and Yamaha:

-Casio WK-225/WK-6500
-Yamaha NP-31/NP-V60

Any thoughts on these? Any other suggestions? I'm willing to buy used too as long as stock is easy to find (I need it soon).

thanks!
