Nord Electro 4 Combi patches

I recently purchased a Nord Electro 4 SW73. In setting up user patches, I've discovered you can't combine patches. I've grown accustomed in the past being able to play piano/strings combinations for ballads. Does anyone know any tricks to do this? Thanks, Garry.

the Electro 4D is still mono-timbral, so only one sound section can be used at a time (no layering or splitting of strings organ and piano sections). The Nord Stage allows you to layers splits (I think) but is a much more expensive instrument.
