NAMM report on the Roland RD-88.
Looks and sounds pretty good to me.
With the built-in speakers, it's almost a PX-S1000 on steroids (well, not really). Audio and Midi over one USB cable, nice.
Plus, there's support for Roland's triple pedal unit RPU-3.
Sadly, as with all of Roland's stage pianos, no music rest.
Don't understand this. On the CP88, there's none included either, but at least it's an optional extra.
Korg's new SV2 has a music rest as well.
With the RD-88, if you want to use an iPad, you'll need to buy a stand where you can mount a second tier or a laptop/tablet holder. Not very convenient.
But I guess people buying the RD-88 couldn't care less about a music rest.
