Just bought a PSR-E343 (waiting for it to arrive...excited....)

Not very powerful though, so I'm wondering if I can connect it up to my Corsair SP2500 PC speakers, for some extra oomph?

I would think so. The keyboard needs a 6.3mm (1/4-inch) stereo plug, connected to the headphones jack.

If your speakers have a 3.5 mm stereo TRS input then this would be the cable you'd need.

You could either choose to plug it directly into the speakers or else route it thru the computer's blue soundcard input connector and control the volume and mix with MP3's using the computer's built in mixer. You could also use it to record MP3's directly from the keyboard.

One thing to note though. Yamaha's have an internal menu setting to set the output voltage and impedance to match with internal speakers, headphones or external line input level speakers.

Refer to pages 11 and 12 of the manual on how to set this setting. Using with external audio devices and setting up EQ.

Set the Yamaha to output to line level output else it will sound like crap and possibly blow out your system.
