I just purchased this keyboard (beautiful keyboard) but I cannot connect to my pc. I have been searching for a while on YouTube, Internet, the manual, looks easy but no luck so far. I am looking on the keyboard (pc mode on/off) but cannot find this. I had a specialist from Microsoft working on my pc remotely for 2 hours, no luck again. He said it is probably my keyboard.
Please I need help on this.
Thank you

You must use USB 2.0 port and cable to make it work. It will not work on USB 3.0 ports ( usually blue color ).

If you do have to come back can you let us know what version of Windows you are using?

Do note that there are 32 and 64 bit driver versions available so use the one that matches your version of Windows

No problems. You can get more information on page 110 of your manual.

I have Windows 10. I may have a problem with my computer. I connected my USB to 2.0 and still doesn’t work.

First you must use 2.0 AB USB ( printer ) cable and connect it on 2.0 USB port ( black port ) on your PC! If you connect it to 3.0 USB ( blue port ) it will not work. The USB cable must not be longer than 1.5m!
Second you must have proper driver installed. For new Windows 10 PC you need 64 driver but just to be sure right click on Windows Start Menu and pick System option. Then in device specs make sure it says 64 bit system type.
If your device is installed properly you will see your SX700 in Device Manager as Digital Keyboard under Sound, video and game controllers drop down. To get to Device Manager right click Windows Start and pick Device Manager. Before you do that make sure the keyboard is properly connected and turned on.

Your keyboard should be connected to your computer before you turn on the keyboard.

Try it again and if you still have a problem try using another cable.

Ok, I did everything you said, and I see the digital keyboard and the driver installed. When I go to the expansion manager I cannot see my keyboard. When I want to download my instrument, it goes to my downloads and I see my keyboard on the wrong side. See attachment.

Sounds like your PC is now functioning OK.

I am unfamiliar with Expansion Manager & all I can suggest is to look in the Menu of the app to see if there is a Preferences or Options etc where you have to select which of the Yamaha Arranger instruments the software is to use.

I am presuming that the software is generic to all the Yamaha Arrangers and certainly with Korg’s equivalent app it had to be set to the arranger model number.

The Yamaha app for their digital pianos is generic.
