Hi,

My Roland FP 30 is stuck with sustain 100% of the time even without using the sustain pedal. I've tried doing a factory reset and all the tips and tricks I've been able to find online. No luck yet. Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions? Thank you for any help you can offer!

IS the pedal universal? Reverse the polarity.

Yamaha and Roland are normally closed pedal switches.

Korg, Casio and EVERYBODY else uses Normally open contacts.

Universal pedals have switchable polarity.

Dat's Dat.

Thank you for your response, Destroyer of Eardrums!!!

My pedal does have switchable polarity and that was the first thing I tried. Unfortunately, the issue seems to be unrelated to the pedal, as the sustain is constant even when the pedal is not plugged into the keyboard.

Have you ever experienced that? I've been hoping there might be a nifty "press the function button and play middle C and all will be well" kind of solution, but nothing has been revealed yet.

Thank you, again!

The pedal jack inside the Roland is stuck in the ON position. Open it up and see if you can get it to snap back with a toothpick. Otherwise the jack is shorting internally.
