Roland Go88 Not Powering on

I just got a brand new Roland Go88. When I press the power button it lights up, as soon as I left off it goes out. I tried it with the plug-in and batteries. Am I missing something for the initial setup or is this just a defective unit? Any ideas would be a great help! Thank you!
