Roland HP2800 pedal issue

I have an in/out Midi cable to USB going from my HP2800 Roland keyboard to an IMAC. I am using Garage Band as my DAW and when I depress the pedals on the Roland the soft pedal and the sustaining pedal have notes attached to them and not only send over, for ex. the sustained overall sound but also the one note sustained that is attached to the pedal. The sostenuto pedal does not play a note when depressed. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this? I cannot understand why the pedal is sending a note signal over and is attached to a note, like the keys.
