I believe I'd mentioned using "stacked Leslie's" in several posts before, but I didn't have the images to back it up until now... I was cleaning out some old (gee, ya think?) folders this weekend and found two old pictures from UMass Amherst (circa 1980) which show the double-stack. And we would sometimes bring two Hammond's too, just because... **
Man, that was cool!!! But I'll be very happy just lugging around my Hammond SK Pro 73 these days, thank you very much!
* We did it because: (a) We had two of each available, so why not?!; (b) We had a roadie & his van to help, and the room (as me and the drummer split the cost for gigs -- and after this, plus my instrument loans, I'd have maybe $10 left to show after a gig); and (c) We were young and felt invincible back then.
Our bass player had been a roadie for Yes & Boston, and he rigged up a cable so we could run both Leslie's off of either Hammond; or sometimes one on each, based on which tune we were cranking out.
