While definitely an iconic piece of musical history I'm not certain about the "most famous" or "best" claim in this day and age.

The German Bosendorfer has gained a lot of prominence these days and pretty much every concert hall and opera house that uses a grand piano keeps a Yamaha in stock these days.

In terms of actual popularity I'd have to say that the Yamaha grand outsells all its current competition combined, hence achieving the "most popular" or "most famous" title simply by sheer numbers alone.

If I were to assign a title to the Steinway Grand, it would be simply "most historic."
