Hello,

I have my first live gig at Wildfest this Friday and have a question...
I usually rehearse with my setup as follows;

Pa700 and Casio CDP-S110
Both USB into a Mac book pro running Logic Pro X, then a splitter one for my earphones the other through a volume pedal into my amp.

For this gig it is roughly 500 people so a PA system will be used, should I go into my amp then mic it for the PA or go direct to the PA from the Mac book Pro?

Go directly into the PA.

Going thru a mic would degrade quality and introduce spurious noises.

Best solution would be to get a decent Audio Interface or Mixer with built-in Audio interface and plug everything into it's inputs, then out to the PA (or speaker when at home).
Other than that go direct from the Macbook to PA.

Agree on the DI solution mentioned by Jmemcse, but with a twist. I use a keyboard sub-mixer and send a stereo DI pair to the board. The board sends back a monitor mix so you can hear yourself and the rest of the band. (will require a floor wedge monitor or in ear monitors) check out https://www.sweetwater.com/store/de...ey-largo-keyboard-mixer-with-balanced-di-outs This keyboard stuff gets expensive when you want to do it right!

If you're an electric guitar player and the final product is dependent upon what your amp does to mold the overall sound, then yes, mike the amp. However, any other electronic instrument (i.e., keyboards) should fed into the mixing board/PA system, either directly or via a DI box. (The same holds true when recording at home or in a studio.)

you didn't tell us what your amp is? most of modern amp has direct out (pre/post) then you can go from there.
