Can anyone suggest a three-octave compact keyboard (mini keys OK) with onboard sounds? I got the Akai MPK mini play and really like it but would love one more octave (i.e., like the MPK mini plus but with onboard sounds).
My situation: I play music for live theater and will be traveling to Eastern Europe to back up some solo performers. So I don't want or need a full-size keyboard, lots of MIDI or synth controls, etc. I like the decent-quality instrument sounds and sound effects on the MPK mini play, and I will use it unless someone can suggest something similar that can do three octaves. (I do use the octave-shift switch on the mini play, but would prefer the 3-octave keybd.) If there's a good compact sound module I could use with the MPK mini play, I might go for that—just trying to keep things simple and reliable for traveling. Thanks so much for any suggestions!
