Hi,
I'm looking to change up my exercise regimen and was wondering what types of exercises you guys do at home? Also, do you know of any treadmills/ellipticals that don't take up a lot of space?

I took some basic Judo classes at the Y way back in the stone age.

I still do the basic warmups that we used in those classes.

Good aerobic and flexibility workout in under 15 minutes.

Gary ;)

EDIT >>> Usually 2 sets of 10 reps of each of about 10 exercises constitutes a decent workout.

I do Tai Chi and a lot of stretching (especially the hamstrings). As you get older balance and flexibility are key to mobility and, therefore, quality of life. Men, especially, tend to suffer from fore-shortened hamstrings. That is the primary cause of that classic short-stepping, old man shuffle.

I just walk.
On a nice morning I will walk (briskly) for 45 minutes.
I try to get a walk or two everyday usually 20 - 30 minutes each time.

Hi, this is an interesting question. But answering it depends on additional information, such as: age, blood pressure, weight and height, smoking, if there are clinical intercurrences such as hypertension, diabetis, etc ... It would be advisable to consult a general clinician in your area and also a specialist in physical medicine ... now depending on your clinical state, the best idea is to walk, not on a treadmill, but on the street, in a park, etc ... Good luck.

I walk. I've got a FitBit, two dogs, and a Pokedex.

(Actually, the dogs are my wife's and my daughter's. But who takes them for long walks...)

Cool. Does anyone know of a low-footprint (by which I mean smallish or collapsible) treadmill or elliptical?

BTW if you're looking to buy exercise equipment take a look at the used listings on craigslist. At any given point in time there are thousands of people giving up on their exercise resolution and selling off barely used equipment for a fraction of the original purchase price.

Nothing depreciates faster than a used rowing machine or treadmill :D :D :D
