Hello Mentors

As a part of my ear training routine, I am practicing different scales and exercises. I am randomly selecting any instrument from the tone bank for that practice. Is that a good approach or is there any specific tone / instrument that I should be using for ear training for maximum benefits?

Is there any other good structured organized approach for ear training?

Thanks,
Bodhi

I find it’s easiest for me to find pitch using piano patches.
Thankyou. Most of the times, I am using piano voices because thats what maximum apps, sites and people suggest to use. But when I switch to some other instrument like strings for example, does that change the way I identify the sounds by ear?

In theory the purest tone you can get is a plain old sine wave. This has no distracting harmonics. The easiest way to achieve this on most keyboards is to use a flute voice without any FX. A flute basically generates a sinusoidal tone.
