WK 7500 in live performance: amps, music?

If you use any of the WK3800 or later WK series,
and play in a band, we all would like to exchange
ideas on amps, speakers, etc.

  • Which keyboard(s) do you use?
  • What amps do you use for live performance?
  • What kind of band / music is performed

I have both WK 3800 and WK 7500, and am thinking of buying a new keyboard since I have some problems with the Casio. I realize the Casios are not considered "professional" keyboards, but I have a really hard time justifying the 'pro' keyboard prices.

The 7500 sounds great, alone. Put it with a band and its lost.
Hook up amps, and it's still lost -- particularly outdoors.

Please share your set-up for inspiration and help to the rest of us@

Thanks

Welcome.

Your question is like a piece of string, its of indeterminate lemgth.

You say you have a hard time justifying pro keyboard prices and yet you seem to quote the very reasons you need a pro setup.

Probably better if you advise how much budget you have and that will give everyone here somewhere to start.

The reality you need to confront is that this keyboard is not ideally designed for band use. I acknowledge you don't want to spend money on a higher-end machine, however ultimately you will have to prioritise budget against functionality.

When you say "lost" - you mean in terms of leads or backing?

I do find my CTK7000 is very "trebly" on output, and need a fair whack of adjusting tomes at the PA.

Yet another Op who joins, posts, then nada, zilch.

From now on I am only going to welcome newbies and request more info from them.
