Hi,

I currently play guitar to accompany myself on songs, most of which I write (music and lyrics). I'm looking to purchase a keyboard to accompany myself and also to use to write songs with.

I'm a total non-purist and want to to get up to speed as quickly as possible using the keyboard's features to create a nice accompaniment sound. Next in importance is messing around with chord progressions and melodies in the writing of songs.

Also, I was totally psyched by this:

Any help really appreciated!

Thanks,

Steve

No personal opinion on either keyboard you mentioned but what you should be looking at is arranger keyboards.

If you don't mind mini keys and are only looking to play backing tracks the Korg Microarranger is in the same price category as the two you mentioned. Otherwise you could blow thousands on some of the professional arranger keyboards out there from Korg, Yamaha and Roland.

Gary ;)
