Greetings,

I currently use a Hammond XK1, but it's on it's death bed. I already use a Yamaha Motif and a Korg M3.

I'd like to replacement my Hammond but with another synth based keyboard that happens to have comparable organ sounds to the Hammond.

Any thoughts? Nord perhaps?

Thanks for your input.

The KB3 Organs on the Kurzweil PC3K are pretty amazing. Definitely worth a looksee...

I used to own a Kurzweil 10 years ago and although i LOVED the sounds, the learning curve was nuts. And the manual wasn't very helpful. Has that changed at all?

Compared to Korg the current level of support on the Kurzweils is like night and day. My PC3K8 is the best supported keyboard I've ever owned.

There are two very active user forums devoted to them.

The manual is very straightforward and well written.

There's also a companion volume written by the owner of Cunka.com

And to top it off Kurzweil has supplied a complete tutorial video series onsite and on Youtube for the PC3 line.

They're also backward compatible with older Kurz products so your learning curve should not be that steep if you owned a K series or other older board.

Then again, VAST is complicated but that's simply because it is so flexible and powerful.

I love mine so much I plan to be buried with it :D :D :D

Gary ;)

Here's a Toccata file I ran thru my PC3K8 to give you an idea of one of the organ sounds.
