Joner, it sounds to me like you've only been finding piano teachers, and what you actually needed was a keyboard teacher (yes there's a difference. A big difference). So instead of looking for piano teachers, see if you have a Yamaha school near you that teaches adults. (I learned for 4 years in Yamaha method; it's no longer unique, from what I know, the Suzuki piano method more or less copies it, and event the Piano Guy, Scott Houston is basically following the same idea: think in terms of chords, and scales from those chords, and everything flows from there. Instead of literally trying to mindlessly follow sheet music, note by note (which doesn't teach you anything in terms of understanding music)
There are also a bunch of youtube videos on basic improvising that literally take 60 seconds, I think you may find some joy in those. Here's one as an example so you know what to search.
These are fun, especially if you turn on the accompaniment (AI Full keyboard or AI Fingered, depends on whether you chose an ensemble voice or a solo voice on the right)
