It's kind of weird when you think about it. Anthems of revolt and revolution were the norm in the 60's and 70's when we were all kids and nowdays people are lining up in corporate suits and ties to listen to grandpa geezers sing about the revolution they sold out a long time ago.
So true Gary!
A couple of factors driving that are:
1. "Baby Boomers": Due to superior health and education post-war, a lot of those revolutionary kids grew up, cut their hair, stopped taking drugs and are now comfortably retired after successful careers with cash to burn.
2. The younger Gen-X crowd (and I'm one of them) enjoy the music after being introduced to it by parents, older siblings, music teachers. And they love it because when all's said and done, it's great music the like of which we don't really see today. These people are now in their 40's and also have cash to burn!
These are the main types we see at our classic rock gigs so very familiar with the demographics!
